Her own challenges finding the right work/life balance and maintaining good health while trying to exceed the demands of her corporate career led her to the path of health and wellness advocacy.
In 2014 she earned a Master of Art’s Degree in Health and Wellness Coaching with a concentration in nutrition at the Maryland University of Integrative Health in Laurel, MD. She is also a certified Qi Gong Instructor and a meditation instructor and is pursuing her accreditation as a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Valerie’s professional career has included diverse experiences in Marketing; Project and Proposal Management; Organizational Change Management; Corporate Leadership; Recruiting; and running her own small business. She has worked in the non-profit sector supporting the U.S. military and spent over a decade at the management consulting firm of Booz Allen Hamilton, partnering with federal government, military, and commercial clients.
To keep the creative side of her brain active, Valerie started Rooms with a Hue, LLC a small interior decorating company in 2004. While working full time and running her decorating company, she also appeared as the lead designer for HGTV’s KidSpace from 2005 to 2010.
A dynamic public speaker, world traveler, and business professional; her passion for living a balanced and healthful lifestyle is contagious! Whether by empowering her clients to move toward their goals, or by making strangers on the street laugh, Valerie has always found the most fulfilment in her life from having a positive impact on the lives of others.
